Our students in the "Future of Food" Make@thon
This year, some of our students participated in the “Future of Food” Make@thon sponsored by the Siemens Foundation as part of the STEAM Hub Siemensstadt Square. The Make@thon was organised by the University of Osnabrück and was held in the Siemensstadt Square where 60 students developed concrete ideas for a diet that makes everyone full while also protecting the climate.
The students were divided into small groups and worked on the topic for a week. Before the Make@thon started, there were workshops on various topics from “How do I form my thoughts scientifically” to “How will my idea eventually become my startup?”. Additionally, there were daily lectures by experts who shed light on the topic of nutrition from different perspectives.
On the 4th of June, the best teams presented their inventions to the audience and jury at the STEAM Hub Siemensstadt Square. The jury consisted of representatives from the University of Osnabrück, Siemens Foundation, Siemens Professional Education as well as the YouTuber and STEAM-influencer Jacob Beautemps.
We are proud of our students for their excellent contributions to the “Future of Food”. We are looking forward to going back next year!
